Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Programs
The Gulf Coast Workforce Board provides comprehensive, hands-on technical assistance to support school districts and partners at every stage of developing and implementing Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Programs (RTAPs). This support is designed to reduce barriers to entry and ensure programs are both high-quality and sustainable. Technical assistance includes guidance on understanding apprenticeship requirements, determining district roles and sponsorship models, and aligning with higher education partners for coursework and certification pathways. The team also supports districts in designing key program components such as on-the-job learning structures, mentorship models, and progression frameworks, while helping navigate the formal registration process. Beyond program design, the Workforce Board continues to assist with implementation readiness, including planning timelines, staffing considerations, and long-term sustainability strategies. Ongoing support is provided through shared tools, regional coordination, best practice dissemination, and individualized consultation, ensuring districts remain aligned, supported, and equipped to successfully grow their educator pipelines.
