Dr. Melanie Rodriguez brings a deep commitment to people, purpose, and progress to her role on the board. Additionally, she is the founder and CEO of Elevate Latinas, a talent development firm located in Houston. Her work is rooted in expanding access to opportunity and strengthening the talent pipeline across the region.

With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Rodriguez’s professional background is firmly grounded in talent management. “My background is in talent management. I have over 20 years of working in corporate and sound profit spaces, working on talent development,” she said. That experience gives her a clear perspective on how workforce systems can better serve both individuals and employers.

“I think this board is fundamental to providing access to resources, funding and opportunities for our workforce growth throughout this Houston area,” she explained. As she sees it, Houston’s expansion in technology, construction, and innovation reaches far beyond city limits. “Houston is such a growing space… that really impacts the entire nation.” Being able to support that growth through “funding, certifications and opportunities,” she added, “is amazing. And I love being part of that.”

Outside of her professional and board work, Dr. Rodriguez is equally passionate about service. She points to Houston’s strong philanthropic community as a major influence, sharing her love for volunteering in local spaces, particularly those focused on socio-economic needs and health. From food sourcing to local clinics, her work reflects a hands-on approach to community impact. She also serves on nonprofit boards and supports organizations like El Centro del Corazón in the East End, helping provide health care services to the local community.
