Workforce Report Card Roundtable Discussions
The Gulf Coast Workforce Board's roundtable discussions about education in the Houston-Galveston area were featured in articles written by the following media:
KUHF News 88.7
Houston Chronicle
During these discussions, the community identified a few goals that will help us improve educational achievement:
• Emphasize early childhood education.
• Change perceptions about technical certifications and degrees.
• Build and expand connections between industry and education.
• Provide better career counseling for students.
• Teach essential skills.
• Encourage parents' involvement.
The Board will use the input from these sessions to guide our efforts to build a better-educated workforce for the region.
