FAQs

Question:

I have a question about my Unemployment Insurance benefits. Can you help me?

Answer:

Workforce Solutions does not handle UI benefits. You have to contact the Texas Workforce Commission in Austin either by email or by telephone. Because it is very difficult to reach that office by telephone due to the volume of calls it receives, TWC recommends that you contact them by email, using this form https://services.twc.state.tx.us/UIEV/email/email.do .Someone from the UI office will contact you within 48 hours.
To check the status of your benefits or for any other questions about unemployment insurance, go to http://www.twc.state.tx.us/ui/uiclaim.html

Question:

I cannot log in to my WorkInTexas account even though I have a USER ID and PASSWORD. What do I need to do?

Answer:

Check and see if your Internet browser is set to reject cookies. If so and you are running Windows, go to Tools, Internet Options, Privacy, Advanced and adjust/enable cookies.

Question:

I cannot see any contact information on the WorkInTexas.com job posting. What do I need to do?

Answer:

You are probably looking at a posting that has been set to “Must Match Exactly” and your occupational information is not matching exactly. Make sure that you have completed all of the sections of your online profile, paying attention to the Key Words.  Once you have a job match and you indicate that you are interested in the position, you will be able to Preview Contact Information and see how to apply.

Question:

When I am given information on how to apply for a position, why does it say to contact Workforce Solutions?

Answer: Sometimes an employer posts a position and asks Workforce Solutions to pre-qualify all candidates before they will do an interview. You need to call or visit with an employment counselor in a career office to see if your qualifications meet the requirements of the job.
